I’m a full time artist living and working from my home in Blackpool, Lancashire. I have always had a love for art and paintings. I left school with a few qualifications, including a grade A in ‘O’ level art, then continued to college for 4 years to study Graphic Design, gaining a ‘HND’ for my efforts. I pursued that career for a short while, but my heart wasn’t really in it. A series of jobs followed whilst I continued to paint in my spare time. My painting style has evolved over the years, to the point now, I don’t think about ‘style’ I just paint in a way that feels natural. Sometimes even I am surprised with the end result. In recent years I have been painting the English landscape through the various seasons. My paintings often feature an old chap and his faithful hound. I love wildlife and often various creatures wander into my pictures. I hope my paintings convey a sense of peace and the beauty that can be found in nature. I think we could all do with a little of that in this increasingly mad world..
I’m also interested in folklore, myths and legends and the paranormal. I’ve painted over 20 pictures featuring gnomes. I don’t really know why I like painting them but I suppose I like to think there is still a little magic left in those quiet places. You can see them here; Gnome series
I have been painting full time now for over 7 years. I’ve been lucky enough to sell my work worldwide, and I’m very grateful to all my customers. I hope to continue as long as I am able. I am still always excited when I start on a brand new painting.
